Frequently asked questions about chartering with Sailor’s Choice
We try to get to different species depending on weather and time of year. We’ll hunt for tarpon, snook, redfish, spotted sea trout, grouper, and more! You may also encounter certain shark species that like to lurk in shallow waters, such as lemon and nurse sharks. near shore favorites including kingfish, Spanish mackerel, cobia, grouper and mangrove snapper.
It’s important to know that there is no guarantee of catching fish, but if they are biting, we will find them.
We love cash but can take all major credit cards for deposits (we have to add 3.5% to cover fees).
The charter fee includes my endless knowledge of the Tampa Bay and Gulf waters, bait, ice, tackle, rod/reel, bottled water, fish cleaning, fishing instruction and a fishing license.
We provide all the gear you’ll need but you may bring your own rods if you’d like.
We provide cooler space on the boat, but you can bring one to leave in your car to put fish in at the end of the trip.
Sunglasses, a wide brimmed hat, light colored clothes are suggested for spring and summer and warmer clothes are suggested in winter. Light soled shoes like deck shoes or sneakers. Food and drinks of your liking (no hard liquor, red wine or illicit drugs). You’ll need liquid sun screen (no spray sunscreen)
No illegal drugs, contraband, weapons, glass, spray sunscreen, dark soled shoes or hard liquor are permitted on the boat at any time.
We prefer mornings but our charter departure times are flexible based on schedules. Just check with us to arrange a time.
